How Keyword Research Tells us Everything about your Business

Did you know that the majority of people find what they are looking for on the internet by typing keywords into a search engine such as Google?  This means that it is vitally important that you identify the keywords in your own business and share them across the web with links that will enable potential customers to visit your site.  This is called Search Engine Optimisation!

    What is Search Engine Optimisation?

The purpose of Search Engine Optimisation or (SEO) is to ensure that references and links to your to your website appear on the first page when you type in your keywords. Deciding what your keywords are can help you to define your business better and help people to find you more efficiently.  One way that we distribute links and keywords is by writing blog posts for customers’ websites and gust posts on relevant blogs.  This article is about search engine optimisation and the key word search engine optimisation appears a number of times with one linking back to the search engine optimisation section of our website – click it and see! By increasing the number of articles and blog posts on the internet the chances of your business appearing on the first pages of a search increases.  This process can be time consuming especially if your business involves a lot of input from you.

    Keyword Research

Often customers are concerned that we may not understand or know enough about their company and the industry in which it is based to be able to write relevant articles for them.  At the beginning of a project that very well be the case but once the keywords have been identified and we have spent time researching them we actually end up knowing a considerable amount about your business.  We research the following to write quality and informative pieces of writing:-

    • What is the product?
    • Who distributes it?
    • Where is it used?
    • Who buys it?
    • What historical facts are there?
    • Recent news?
    • Benefits to companies and customers.
    • We keep our eyes and ears open to see the product being used in everyday life.

    Researching the Unknown

We have a customer who stocks electrical components that are commonly used to construct fans in restaurant kitchens and controllers that can be used to change temperatures in a variety of different settings.  The two key words that were identified were; ‘Programmable logic controllers’, and ‘variable speed drives’, on first viewing they seem complicated and daunting but once you start researching them you do learn an awful lot about the industry.  For example we found that the main benefit of,’variable speed drives,’ was environmental and that the restaurant industry has benefitted financially by reducing the speed of their extractor fans and have reduced their carbon footprint at the same time.  We now have a secure knowledge of the industry which allows us to publish links in the most relevant locations on the internet.

    Identifying Keywords

Keywords are identified by finding out which words a person types into a search engine to find the type of business that you have.  If your business appears in the listing then you have identified the keywords correctly  if not you may find that you will need to have your website search results analysed to see which keywords people use to find your site.  Again this is time consuming work and can often get in the way of the nature of your business.  If you would like to us to look at your website and analyse it then complete then type your website address in the from below and we will get back to you with a quote.
